Troops and Vigilantes Bust Kidnap Gang in Enugu, Recover ₦2M Ransom
On April 10, security forces teamed up with local vigilantes to foil a kidnapping in Abani, Uzo-Uwani LGA of Enugu State. The gang had abducted Mrs Victoria and initially demanded ₦40 million. Her husband managed to pay ₦2 million before the rescue. During the operation, officers seized a pump-action rifle and recovered the ₦2 million ransom. The suspects and exhibits have been handed over to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Adani for further investigation and prosecution. This swift intervention by soldiers from the 82 Division Garrison and the Safe City Volunteer Foundation highlights ongoing efforts to secure communities against kidnap syndicates.
