Anambra Police Arrest Three Suspects, Seize Firearm, Ammunition and Drugs — 1 of 4
1 / 4

The Anambra State Police Command has stepped up patrols and arrested three suspects in separate raids across the state. Officers recovered a locally made pistol, live ammunition, illicit drugs and burglary tools during these operations. In one raid on Igbariam-Achalla Road, police intercepted two men on a motorcycle and found a Beretta-style pistol loaded with a live round, a crack tool, six phones, two power banks and quantities of suspected Cannabis Sativa. A shirt marked “Nigeria Army Barracks Youth Foundation” was also seized for further investigation. Later, operatives acting on credible intelligence arrested a 21-year-old at Agukwu Nri. He was caught with dried weeds suspected to be Cannabis and is linked to cult activities in the area. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, and residents are urged to keep providing timely information to support public safety.

How did the police pinpoint those suspects across different raids? What led to the success in recovering those firearms and drugs?

Absolutely, those results reflect solid intelligence work and coordinated team efforts to carry out precise raids.

It seems these raids always happen on remote roads. Without proper community policing data, I wonder if arrests reflect actual crime trends or just random sweeps.

Wetin guarantee those guns and drugs weren't planted just to keep patrols funded? We shouldn't assume all recoveries prove genuine police vigilance.
