How Corruption Sneaks into Our Daily Lives in Nigeria
Nigeria is a nation of immense potential, yet millions of people still face poverty, insecurity, poor healthcare, bad roads, unstable electricity, and rising living costs. Many of these struggles stem from corruption. When public funds vanish, roads become death traps and hospitals lack vital equipment. Schools stop teaching because budgets are mismanaged. Promised power remains unreliable and security funds are diverted. Corruption grows through everyday acts: paying bribes, buying votes, favouritism and cutting corners. When dishonesty becomes normal in small matters, it fuels larger abuses at the highest levels. We can end this. We must demand transparency, value competence over connections, and reject greed in all forms. Nigeria can rise again when integrity matters more than shortcuts and true service replaces self-interest.
