Real Madrid Seal £51.8m Move for Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella
Real Madrid have agreed a deal worth up to £51.8 million to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella after the World Cup. The fee comprises £47.5 million up front plus £4.3 million in add-ons. The 27-year-old Spaniard is currently at the tournament with his national side. He rose through Barcelona’s academy and had been keen to return to Spain after joining Chelsea for £63 million in 2022. Since Florentino Pérez’s re-election, Real have also been linked with Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries. France centre-back Ibrahima Konaté will join from Liverpool, and Xabi Alonso is set to take charge as manager for the 2026–27 season.
