Kano Governor Flags Off Northern CNG and EV Programme
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, with the Vice President’s representative and the Pi-CNG & EV chairman, launched a new CNG and electric vehicle scheme for the Northern region. They also commissioned Asad CNG and Greenville LNG stations along the Kano-Zaria Road. The project will open opportunities in refuelling stations, conversion centres, technical services, assembly plants and logistics. Many youths have already been trained in vehicle conversion and maintenance, and more jobs will follow. The state government invited private investors to partner on infrastructure development. Governor Yusuf pledged an enabling environment to boost economic growth and ease transport costs. Senior officials from Jigawa and Katsina called for swift roll-out in their states. The Pi-CNG & EV chair said stations will be spread across all senatorial districts in Kano for wide access.
