“Give a man power, and his character shows up.” Many activists who once challenged Nigeria’s oppressive system now defend it when they secure a seat at the table. They rose as staunch critics, only to become the very establishment they vowed to dismantle. Figures like Oshiomhole, Keyamo, Shehu Sani and others traded fiery protests for political comfort. Principles were replaced by patronage, leaving ordinary Nigerians with empty promises and broken trust. Integrity is heavy, power is light. Our champions didn’t fall—they sold out. It’s time to call out this cycle and demand real accountability.
