Bassey Otu Clinches APC Governorship Ticket Unopposed in Cross River

Governor Bassey Otu has been declared winner of the APC governorship primary held statewide on Thursday. Announced by the primary election committee chair at the party secretariat in Calabar, Otu was unopposed and secured 116,038 votes across 196 wards in 18 local government areas. Officials praised the peaceful conduct of all primaries, noting that Cross River’s exercise stood out amid crises in other states. The committee chair appealed for unity, urging both winners and aggrieved members to support one another.
