Kano Police Arrest 248 Suspects in One Month and Rescue Kidnap Victims
The Kano State Police Command has arrested 248 individuals in various criminal categories over the past month. Those detained include armed robbery suspects, kidnappers, drug dealers, vehicle and tricycle thieves, and individuals linked to violent public disturbances. Three kidnap victims were also rescued and reunited with their families. Recovered items range from pistols and locally made guns to cutlasses, knives, and other weapons. Large quantities of suspected cannabis and prescription drugs were seized alongside vehicles, motorcycles, mobile phones, and SIM cards. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori credited intelligence-led operations, community engagement, and joint task force collaborations for the successes. He highlighted the ongoing work of the Violent Crime Response Unit and reinforced commitments to professionalism, transparency, and inter-agency coordination.
