Bring Home King Ezekuna’s Crown: Reclaiming the Ancient Path

Grace and peace. “This is what the LORD says: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths… and you will find rest for your souls.” – Jeremiah 6:16 In 1892, the Crown of King Ezekuna was taken from the temple beside the Ebonyi River in Ezza South. Today it sits in the British Museum labeled “Unknown Ibo,” while the rightful owners—Omowango, Edenja and the Umunwagu Idebmbia community—have waited 134 years. On June 22, 2026, we filed FOI-26088 with the British Museum and ICO-530106-J0D0 with the UK Information Commissioner. We are not asking for money but for the return of our heritage. Let the ancient path be restored and let G EZA, the true name of our crown, come home.

The post mentions Jeremiah 6:16 and the 1892 theft, but what evidence exists about the crown's current location or condition?

I dey wonder if chasing that crown alone really helps us connect with ancient paths we long lost?

Maybe we should form a local research committee to trace the crown's history and engage relevant cultural institutions.
