Police Arrest Seven Suspected Pipeline Vandals, Recover 285 Sections in Adamawa
A joint operation by the Inspector-General of Police Special Task Force on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering and the IGP X-Squad led to the arrest of seven suspected pipeline vandals in Adamawa State. The breakthrough began on July 9 when officers intercepted a J5 bus on the Yola-Numan Road carrying stolen pipeline sections. Investigators recovered 285 sections of NNPCL pipeline, six gas cylinders, diggers, shovels, the bus, and other tools. The suspects remain in custody as police probe the full extent of the syndicate. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding critical oil infrastructure and urged the public to share credible information to help curb vandalism and economic sabotage.
