Two Nigerians Remanded in Schweizer-Reneke Drug Case

Two Nigerian nationals, Uzochukwu Israel Iheagwazi (40) and Alloysius Okonkwo (42), appeared briefly before the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrate’s Court in South Africa on March 23, 2026. Their hearing was postponed to March 30 to allow their lawyer time to prepare a bail application. Police say they were arrested during a targeted operation and found with drugs and cash believed to be proceeds of crime. The case has drawn local attention as authorities step up efforts against drug trafficking in the North West province.
