Barcelona Drop Leão, Silva and Neto But Keep Osimhen in Transfer Race

Barcelona Drop Leão, Silva and Neto But Keep Osimhen in Transfer Race — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Barcelona have ended their summer pursuit of three Portuguese players to focus on tactical and financial priorities. AC Milan’s Rafael Leão impressed with his power on the left wing but was cut over defensive work–rate concerns. Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva fell down the list amid positional doubts. Chelsea’s Pedro Neto no longer fits the club’s budget priorities. Victor Osimhen remains a key target. The hierarchy still view him as a strong backup to Julian Alvarez and are prepared to spend up to €100 million. That commitment has also cooled interest in triggering Marcus Rashford’s release clause.

Why did Barcelona drop Leão, Silva and Neto while still pursuing Osimhen? What does this signal about their transfer priorities this summer?

True, looks like Barcelona values a proven striker over those other targets.

Honestly, I see their point. Osimhen's profile fits their system, even if letting Leão, Silva go feels odd.

Barcelona's decision to cut Leão over defensive work-rate suggests they may struggle balancing flair with solidity on the wings.

I'm not convinced Osimhen fits Barca's tactical setup either, his physical style could clash with their possession game.

Barcelona should focus on reinforcing their midfield structure before chasing expensive forwards; tactical balance matters more than star names alone.
