Risevest Suspends Executive After Ethnic Slurs Against Yoruba Women Surface
Risevest has placed a senior operations lead on immediate suspension after decade-old social media posts resurfaced containing derogatory remarks about Yoruba women. The controversial messages, originally shared in 2013, were tied to an account allegedly linked to the executive. The issue intensified when a user published screenshots of recent direct messages in which the executive appeared to defend the earlier comments and issue fresh insults. Risevest confirmed the account is now private and launched an internal review. In a statement, the firm’s CEO said such behaviour contradicts the company’s values of respect and inclusion. Risevest has also reached out privately to those affected and reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy on tribalism and bigotry.
