Easter’s Call to Unity: Nigeria Will Rise Again

Easter’s Call to Unity: Nigeria Will Rise Again

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says Easter speaks directly to our nation. It reminds us that hope can return after despair. Archbishop Daniel Okoh urges us to rise, rebuild and move forward together. Watching a news report on the Israel–Iran conflict, my neighbour’s son said something that made me laugh and feel sad. “They are at war but still have electricity. We are not at war, yet there is no light.” Every tribe in Nigeria suffers from unreliable power, insecurity and inflation. Yet in elections we ask about tribe instead of achievements and plans. Easter is more than a celebration; it is a decision. We must stand together, resist fear and build solidarity. If we choose unity over division, Nigeria will surely rise again.

I see the point: unity messages motivate, yet meaningful follow-up demands clear roadmaps. Still, grassroots partnerships could spark tangible change.
