First Lady Tinubu, Gov. Abiodun to Grace 2026 Ojude Oba Festival
Ijebu-Ode organisers have confirmed that Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival. They also announced that Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and other prominent dignitaries will attend. The festival is set for Friday, May 29, 2026, a few days after Eid-el-Kabir. It will honour the legacy of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, under the theme “Celebrating the Legacy of Oba Sikiru Adetona.” About 90 Regberegbe age-grade groups and 25 warlord families will join the colourful procession. Cultural performances and horse-riding displays remain festival highlights. Security agencies, including the Police, Army and FRSC, have been mobilised for safety and traffic control. Organisers urged all residents and visitors to maintain peace throughout the celebrations. They said Ojude Oba continues to unite the Ijebu people in cultural pride, religious harmony and shared heritage.
