FG Calls on Nigerian Diaspora to Drive National Development

The Federal Government says it will strengthen engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora, describing them as key partners in national development. Speaking at the Nigerian Diaspora Economic Conference in Toronto, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye, said the government is working to address insecurity and build strategic international partnerships that improve security, prosperity, defence and public welfare. He urged Nigerians at home and abroad to move beyond ethnic, religious and tribal divisions. He called for practical cooperation that supports production, growth and national development. The minister also said the government wants to deepen cooperation with Canada and other international partners on the basis of mutual respect and trust.
