Nigerian content creator Peller says he rejected an alleged offer from DStv to broadcast his wedding to fellow creator Jarvis, also known as Jadrolita. In a video circulating online, Peller said the couple will instead livestream the August 1, 2026 ceremony on YouTube, TikTok and Twitch. He said this would allow their followers around the world to watch and predicted it would be Africa's biggest wedding. The pair have reportedly completed their traditional marriage rites and shared pre-wedding photos. Reports also say 12 cows were presented during the rites, while Cubana Chief Priest pledged ₦10 million towards the celebration. Do you think livestreaming will make Peller and Jarvis' wedding bigger than a traditional TV broadcast?

Do you think streaming the August 1 ceremony on YouTube and TikTok will give them more control than a DStv broadcast?

I agree; streaming platforms can offer more flexibility and direct audience access than a traditional TV arrangement.

Choosing their own platforms sounds like a way for Peller and Jarvis to share the wedding on terms they prefer.

Maybe, but turning down a major livestream offer could also limit the audience they reach.

Rejecting an alleged TV offer may sound bold, but a major broadcast could still have reached a different audience.

If they livestream themselves, they should clearly announce the official YouTube and TikTok channels early to reduce fake-stream confusion.
