How I Almost Lost ₦7,500 to a Fake POS Alert
Good day, NaijaWorld. Yesterday, I got the biggest shock of my life. A man I respected came to my shop on Sunday to fill his gas cylinder and buy a chilled Coke. The total was ₦7,000. He asked to pay through my POS and “transferred” ₦15,000. After my fees, I gave him ₦7,500 in change. Later, I checked my POS transaction history and found no record of the deposit. I realized I’d been scammed by a fake alert. I called two friends with POS experience. They confirmed the trick. We confronted him at his house. At first, he denied it, but his neighbors spoke up. His wife returned from church and refunded my money. I’ve lost all respect for him. This ordeal showed me the real losses and agony scammers cause. Please stay vigilant, everyone. Scammers are growing more daring.
