1 / 2

Late Olasinmi Akindele Odunmbaku, former Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and wife of Cardinal James Odunmbaku, was laid to rest at the Chapel of Christ the Light in Alausa, Ikeja. Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo joined dignitaries including Ogun’s Deputy Governor and the Lagos Assembly Speaker to honour her life and service. In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged Nigerians to view funerals as moments for self-reflection rather than just mourning. He celebrated Odunmbaku’s legacy of compassion and public service, calling on her family and guests to emulate her virtues of generosity and faith. Governor Aiyedatiwa described the late commissioner as a devoted servant of God who championed women’s economic empowerment during her tenure. He extended condolences to the Odunmbaku family and prayed for strength and grace to bear the loss while celebrating her lasting impact on countless lives.
