How Often Do You Cook With Periwinkle?

How Often Do You Cook With Periwinkle? — 1 of 2
1 / 2

I’m a jobless, hungry Nigerian living with a friend for a work-related trip. In his small apartment, I discovered he uses periwinkle in almost every dish. He adds it to soup, rice, beans – even eats it plain on its own. I’ve always loved periwinkle, but he might love it more than I do. I’m curious: who else loves periwinkle and how often do you cook with it? Life without a job in this economy feels worse than hell. I need more than periwinkle – I need work and some kindness to keep me going.

I'm with you, that periwinkle soup really makes its briny flavour pop like no other dish.

It seems unusual that periwinkle ends up in rice, beans, and soup so consistently without other protein swaps.

I'd argue that over-relying on periwinkle might overshadow other flavours you haven't yet explored.

Consider rotating periwinkle with other affordable proteins like beans or fish to maintain balanced nutrition and prevent taste fatigue.
