Soludo: Every Child Deserves Dignity at 2026 Children’s Day Celebration
At the 2026 National Children’s Day event in Awka, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo delivered President Tinubu’s message. He said inclusion is the moral foundation of national growth. He urged that every Nigerian child must feel they belong. The governor highlighted that a child’s development starts at home. He said his administration will listen closely to young voices. He described children as key stakeholders in shaping their future and the nation’s destiny. The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare noted this year’s theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” calls for action to leave no child behind. She praised the Nonye Soludo Healthy Living Initiative and announced stronger advocacy against child abuse, trafficking, child labour and street hawking. The colourful celebration featured a march-past by pupils, top government officials and the ceremonial cutting of the Children’s Day cake. It underscored Anambra’s commitment to investing in every child’s welfare.
