From Dance Shows to Trophies: Etche LGA Craves Real Development, Not Distractions
The Etche Local Government administration has moved from public dancing displays to a flood of awards that seem at odds with the realities on the ground. Despite titles like “Grassroots Developmental Chairman of the Year” and “Distinguished Public Service Award,” many residents still face poor roads, lack of healthcare, and limited economic opportunities. Awarding bodies are urged to step off the stage and engage directly with market women, farmers, unemployed youths, and ordinary citizens to assess living conditions rather than rely on choreographed presentations. Trophies cannot fill potholes, create jobs, or enforce accountability. Etche people need tangible development outcomes, not another showcase of distractions.
