Russia Returns 528 Ukrainian Soldiers’ Bodies in Latest Exchange

Russia has handed over the bodies of 528 fallen Ukrainian soldiers, Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for Prisoners of War announced. Authorities say forensic teams will work to identify the remains. Earlier reports indicated Russia sent 526 bodies and received 41 in exchange, though Moscow has not officially confirmed the figures. Since June 2025, more than 12,000 remains have been repatriated between Russia and Ukraine. Seventeen prisoner exchanges mediated by a Gulf state have also freed over 4,000 detainees.
