Ogun CSOs Demand Unified Compliance System to End Multiple Levies
Civil society groups in Ogun State are urging the government and regulators to harmonise registration and fee requirements. They warn against policies that could turn non-profit work into a commercial venture. Dr Tayo Akinpelu of the CSO Self-Regulatory Community of Practice says the sector must build on existing federal and state frameworks. He highlights efforts to train over 100 organisations on transparency, accountability and legal compliance. The group calls on the state to eliminate duplicate levies, reduce financial burdens and digitise approval processes. It asks regulators and CSOs to strengthen dialogue and self-regulation rather than impose new rules.
