From Ibadan Roots to London Runways: Fifi Stitches’ Modern Take on African Textiles
Esther Fiyinfoluwa Adeosun grew up beside her mother’s sewing machine in Ibadan. Today she leads Fifi Stitches between Nigeria and the UK, blending Ankara, Aso Oke and Adire with structured British tailoring. Her training spans Obafemi Awolowo University’s design programme, an online diploma and technical courses in London. Precision construction and architectural corsetry inform every sculpted bodice she creates. Fifi Stitches has appeared at the Suffolk Fashion Show, Liverpool Fashion Ball and London’s Red Carpet Fashion event. Editorial features in leading Nigerian publications and London Runway Magazine have increased its global profile. Beyond couture, Adeosun runs workshops for women and emerging creatives. She aims to build a fully structured fashion house that positions African textile craftsmanship at the heart of international design.
