Lagos Court Jails Eight for Indiscriminate Refuse Dumping in Oshodi
On April 27, eight individuals were arraigned before a magistrate court in Bolade, Oshodi for indiscriminate dumping of refuse. Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Dr. Tokunbo Wahab, announced that all suspects pleaded guilty. They were convicted and each sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. The convicts are Suraju Mukiari, Tukur Muhammed, Seidu Umar, Ishola Jimoh, Goodluck Osigbo, Yusuf Abubakar, Mustapha Musa and Immam Muhammed. The judgment underscores the government’s commitment to enforcing environmental laws.
