APC Scraps Plateau Primary Result, Declares Yusuf Gagdi Winner
APC in Plateau State has overturned its primary result for the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam federal constituency. The party’s primaries committee chair said only the officially appointed returning officer could declare the outcome. An earlier announcement naming Dr John Tongshinen top with 29,968 votes was disavowed. Nandom Kura then declared the incumbent, Yusuf Gagdi, winner. Gagdi, who chairs the House Committee on Navy, insisted all 36 wards were covered. He presented accreditation records, videos and photos to back his claim and dismissed the unauthorized result as fraudulent. The reversal sparked celebrations in parts of Pankshin and Kanam.
