Hon. Mimi Azikiwe Leads Rally for Special Women’s Seats in Anambra Politics
Women from various associations marched through Onitsha to press for the Special Seats for Women Bill. They want more inclusive governance and stronger female representation in Nigeria’s political system. The rally was led by Hon. Mimi Azikiwe of Onitsha North I Constituency. She spoke alongside members of the National Association of Women Journalists and the National Association of Muslim Women. Hon. Azikiwe highlighted how countries like Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa and Kenya have benefited from higher female participation. She urged women to unite and support one another for greater political influence. Dr. Stella Epundu and Mrs. Aderemi Bilikisi also called on all levels of government to create more elective and appointive opportunities for women ahead of upcoming elections.
