I went to a teaching hospital today for internal haemorrhoids. The doctor said he needed to perform a rectal exam and asked me to pull down my trousers. I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say. With another staff member in the room, I had no choice but to bow my head and comply. It felt like the most humbling moment ever. Honestly, doctors are experts, not gods, but that experience really shook me!
