Edo State Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers Near University, Seize Guns and Ammunition
Edo State Police nabbed two men in Iyamho, close to Edo State University, after acting on credible intelligence. The divisional police officer led the operation and recovered two Dane guns, a live AK-47 round, cutlasses, charms and other exhibits. The suspects—23-year-old Sani Kabir and 25-year-old Hamza Nuhu—are believed to be linked to local kidnapping cases. They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation and prosecution. Commissioner of Police Monday Agbonika reiterated the command’s resolve to crush violent crime in Edo. He commended the swift professionalism of his operatives and urged residents to keep sharing timely, credible information as security remains a shared responsibility.
