Iyabo Ojo Accuses Ghana TV Station of Airing Her Film Without Permission
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has accused Ghana’s North East TV of airing her new film, “The Memory of You Part 2,” without permission less than 24 hours after its YouTube premiere. Ojo said she discovered the alleged broadcast on Saturday and insisted that she had no agreement with the station. She argued that unauthorised TV screenings deny filmmakers the revenue needed to cover production costs, including cast fees, locations, accommodation, costumes and equipment. She called on the Ghana National Film Authority, relevant government officials and President John Mahama to investigate the allegation. Actors Destiny Etiko and Bimbo Ademoye also reacted, saying piracy of Nigerian films by television stations has become a recurring concern.
