Two elderly men are now in NDLEA custody in Umuahia after being arrested for allegedly selling illicit drugs to secondary school students. The first suspect, 75-year-old Godwin Obulunbiya Obiora, was arrested at his patent medicine store on Club Road with 4.64 kg of opioids, including tramadol and diazepam. The second, 84-year-old Godfrey Orji, was apprehended by school security at Saint Silas Secondary School while allegedly supplying drugs to two teenage students. NDLEA officials say one of the students, a 15-year-old SS2 pupil, admitted buying and reselling the drugs to classmates. Both suspects await court appearances, and the teenagers have been placed on counselling and rehabilitation.
