Troops Break Terrorists’ Supply Chain, Rescue Four Hostages in North East Offensive
Troops of the Joint Task Force North East under Operation HADIN KAI have rescued four hostages and arrested suspected terrorist collaborators during Operation DESERT SANITY V. The operation targeted insurgent enclaves along the Ngoshe–Amuda axis in Gwoza LGA, Borno State. The victims—two women and two children abducted since the March 3 attack on Ngoshe—were intercepted and freed from a terrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains. After medical checks, they were returned safely to their families with help from community leaders. In recent raids, the military also arrested logistics suppliers carrying delivery items for insurgents and seized arms, illicit substances, and cash. Four suspected cattle rustlers linked to terrorist groups were also detained at Kwaya Kusar Market. Several insurgents’ family members, including women and elderly escapees, surrendered as sustained operations tightened pressure on camps. Authorities say all surrenders are being profiled and processed through the proper channels.
