Double Triumph: Nigeria’s U-18 and U-20 Men’s Handball Teams Crowned Zone 3 Champions

Double Triumph: Nigeria’s U-18 and U-20 Men’s Handball Teams Crowned Zone 3 Champions

Nigeria’s U-18 men’s handball team dominated Ivory Coast 32–19 in the Youth final in Lomé under Coach Abdulhakim Yakubu’s guidance. Their commanding performance secured the IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 title. In the Junior final, Coach David Emmanuel’s U-20 side outplayed Benin Republic 39–29. Nigeria led 22–16 at halftime and held firm after the break to clinch victory. These wins earn both age groups the right to represent Zone 3 at the IHF Trophy Africa Continental Phase later this year, where they will face top teams from across the continent.

Titles are great, yet we shouldn't ignore challenges like funding gaps and coaching consistency across other states.
