Dangguruk Women Burn Local Brews in Plateau State Alcohol Crackdown

Women in Dangguruk community, Jos South LGA, Plateau State, led a protest against alcohol abuse. They marched from one shop to another, seizing cartons, kegs and containers of koskolo, cheskela and other locally brewed drinks. Chanting “No going back, koskolo must stop,” the group publicly set ablaze the confiscated beverages. The women said these drinks fuelled disorder and hardship in families, and community leaders praised the stand for public safety and responsibility.
