Ejiofor: Okonkwo to Push Nwabali and Okoye for Super Eagles Goal

In a recent chat with Brila FM, former international Eric Ejiofor expressed optimism about Arthur Okonkwo’s decision to join the Super Eagles setup. The Wrexham goalkeeper previously featured for England at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria. Ejiofor believes that Okonkwo’s arrival will create healthy competition for Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoye. He stated that this rivalry will only raise standards and strengthen Nigeria’s options between the posts.

Do you think Okonkwo's switch to Nigeria will spark more competition for Nwabali's spot between the posts?

Sure. Bringing Okonkwo in will push Nwabali and Okoye to sharpen up, boosting our goalkeeping options.

I'm not convinced one new signing will unsettle Nwabali. His track record and consistency seem tough to beat.

Focusing on training intensity and clean sheets at club level could be the best way to earn real Super Eagles minutes, no be only talk.
