Nedum Onuoha: Why He Now Regrets Rejecting the Super Eagles
Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha says he still regrets turning down Nigeria’s invitation early in his career. Born in Warri to Nigerian parents, Onuoha opted to focus on breaking into City under Roberto Mancini rather than join the Super Eagles for AFCON. He recalls how Jay-Jay Okocha and John Obi Mikel urged him to commit to Nigeria. At the time, Onuoha feared losing his spot at City by spending six weeks away in January.
