Single Mother of Four Jailed 28 Months for Trafficking Multiple Drugs in Lagos
A Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced a 33-year-old housewife to 28 months’ imprisonment for dealing in illicit substances. NDLEA prosecutors told the court she was arrested on March 12, 2026 at Black Gate, Badore Area, Ajah with 150g of cannabis, 150g of molly, 15g each of tramadol and rohypnol, and 3g each of cocaine and methamphetamine. She pleaded guilty to all six counts and six exhibits were tendered in evidence. Her lawyer pleaded for leniency, noting she is a single mother of four living in an unfinished building and has shown remorse. Justice Akintayo Aluko considered this plea but sentenced her to 28 months in prison or an option to pay a fine of ₦800,000. The court ordered the seized drugs returned to the NDLEA for destruction.
