Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency recovered 380 rounds of military-grade 7.62mm ammunition in Kaduna State on May 31, 2026. The cache was intercepted along the Abuja–Kaduna highway near Jere and handed over to the appropriate security agency. In a separate raid on May 24, agents arrested a couple, Musa and Mercy Sunday, and a third suspect, Salomi Ezekiel, after seizing 1,246kg of skunk cannabis from their Gonin Gora residence. All suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

Could you clarify whether the seizure happened at a main checkpoint or during a random patrol?

It's surprising that such a major interception only happened at Jere checkpoint, not earlier or in transit.
