Du Plessis Dominates Usman with Unanimous Decision in UFC Showdown

Dricus Du Plessis delivered a masterclass performance against former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC in Oklahoma. He controlled every round, using sharp jabs, powerful calf kicks and his trademark question-mark kick to keep Usman off balance. Judges awarded him a clear victory with scores of 50-45, 49-46 and 49-46. Du Plessis snapped Usman’s head back with stiff jabs in the opening round and landed crushing flying and standing knees in the second. Usman managed a late takedown in round three, but the South African quickly returned to his feet. By the fifth, Du Plessis had landed 136 significant strikes, including head kicks that staggered Usman. Despite a late rally from the former champion, it was too little to change the outcome.
