Ododo Orders Bandits to Quit Kogi as New Forest Guards Begin Training

Governor Ahmed Ododo has vowed there will be no safe haven for terrorists, bandits or violent criminals in Kogi State. He spoke during the inauguration of newly recruited Forest Guards in Lokoja, urging them to serve with discipline, patriotism and commitment. The Forest Guard Programme, approved by President Tinubu and coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser with support from the DSS and other agencies, aims to strengthen surveillance, deny criminals access to forest hideouts and improve response to threats. Ododo also inspected newly acquired armoured personnel carriers and pledged continued investment in security personnel, equipment and intelligence-driven operations. He commended President Tinubu, NSA Nuhu Ribadu and DSS DG Adeola Ajayi for their leadership and support. Ododo assured residents that the administration will sustain efforts until every part of the state is secured and safe for lawful activities.

True talk, na big issue be that. Hope say proper training and strict rules of engagement dey cover collateral damage control.

Promising no safe haven for criminals sounds strong, but training forest guards alone may not address deeper security challenges in Kogi.
