Enugu Airport Concessioned to Private Operator in Landmark PPP Deal

Enugu Airport Concessioned to Private Operator in Landmark PPP Deal

The Federal Government has officially transferred operational control of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, to Aero Alliance Limited under a Public-Private Partnership. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, after two decades of stalled concession plans. Aero Alliance now holds full management and operational responsibilities, while Port Harcourt Airport is set for a similar handover soon. Keyamo assured that airport workers’ welfare will be protected under the new arrangement. He also highlighted a new MoU to launch direct flights between Enugu and Guangzhou, aimed at boosting trade, tourism and investment links.
