Seeking Advice on Relocating to Germany or the USA for Work or PhD

Hello everyone. I am of Nigerian and Ghanaian descent and have lived in Ghana since 2010, becoming a permanent resident in 2016. Despite marrying a Ghanaian, I still face discrimination and struggle with joblessness. I hold a Nigerian first degree and an MPhil from the University of Ghana. I secured PhD admission to a US university for Fall 2026 but lacked funding. I applied for the SLB FFTF fellowship, performed well in the interview, but was recently rejected. This setback has been crushing. I no longer wish to stay in Ghana in an unproductive state. I’m seeking advice on how to relocate to Germany or the USA for studies or work. Information on Germany’s blocked-account visa, job leads upon arrival, or contacts for potential PhD supervisors would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Relying on foreign relocation to resolve discrimination and joblessness might be naive. Could focusing on regional hubs or remote work from Ghana offer more realistic career growth than Germany or the USA?
