Kano Deputy Governor Gwarzo Resigns in Show of Statesmanship
Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, has tendered his resignation, effective March 27, 2026. He addressed his letter to Governor Abba Yusuf, stating that the move aims to let the government proceed without distractions. Gwarzo explained that his choice was driven by responsibility, statesmanship and a commitment to the peace and stability of Kano State. “This resignation is made voluntarily and in good faith. It should not be construed as an admission of any wrongdoing, but rather as a conscious decision in the interest of institutional integrity, democratic values and public service,” he wrote. He noted that careful consultations and deep reflection guided his decision.
