NCAA Threatens to Ground Royal Air Maroc Operations in Nigeria Over Service Failures

Royal Air Maroc has long been the biggest culprit in baggage infractions, poor passenger handling, and slow complaint resolutions for Nigerian travellers. Despite a 2025 consumer-protection sanction, service quality remains poor. Baggage is still short-landed without timely updates. First-need payments are inconsistent, and cases only move when the NCAA steps in. Their Abuja country manager often skips mandatory meetings with the CAA and sends reps without authority. Recently, I was told, “Whatever you want to do, do.” Such insolence cannot stand. Under President Tinubu’s administration, alongside the Honourable Minister and the DGCA, my department will push to suspend Royal Air Maroc’s operations in Nigeria until they commit to world-class passenger service. We will enforce stiffer penalties and protect the rights of our travellers.

Passengers should document every incident, file complaints immediately, and escalate unresolved cases to consumer protection agencies for quicker resolutions.
