The NDLEA arrested a 38-year-old businesswoman at MMIA, Lagos, after uncovering 7.5kg of cocaine hidden in a false luggage compartment. She was bound for Beijing on credible intelligence that led officers to her Qatar Airways flight. In a separate operation at Apapa Port Complex, officers recovered nearly 5 tonnes of high-grade cannabis worth about N12.4 billion. The shipment of Canadian Loud arrived in a container of Ford and Nissan vehicles after a weeks-long surveillance. Further raids exposed a drug syndicate planting meth in passengers’ luggage at motor parks. Arrests followed in Lagos and on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, including cases involving Scottish Loud, skunk, and hundreds of thousands of tramadol pills. NDLEA continues nationwide War Against Drug Abuse sensitisation in schools and communities. The agency’s chairman praised officers for disrupting supply chains and urged sustained vigilance against illicit trafficking.
