Man Jailed for Breaking into Girlfriend’s Mother’s Room to Retrieve Gifts

A 28-year-old man is serving time at Winneba Local Prison after breaking into his girlfriend’s mother’s room to recover items he bought for her. According to Crime Check, he and his girlfriend had been together nine years and lived in Ashaiman for two. They went to the mother’s house to collect the gifts, forced open the door and lock, then moved the items to her father’s residence. The mother pressed charges and both were arrested. Afransi Court sentenced him to five months imprisonment and a GH₵1,560 fine, of which he has paid none after two weeks served. His girlfriend received one month and two weeks but was released when he paid her fine.
