Stakeholders Unite to Boost Maternal Health in Ogun State with IBP-SPARK Launch
The Ward Development Committee in Ogun State joined the Justice, Development and Peace Commission and civil society groups to launch the IBP-SPARK project for maternal health. The inception meeting on 19 June 2026 in Ijebu-Ode gathered key stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening primary healthcare and improving outcomes for pregnant women. Breakout sessions focused on community outreach, referral systems between traditional birth attendants and health facilities, health insurance enrollment for pregnant women, feedback mechanisms, and town hall meetings. Participants also planned advocacy for increased healthcare funding and accountability in financing. Leaders applauded the commitment of the WDC chairman and encouraged ongoing collaboration among development partners. A strategic follow-up meeting will guide the next steps for statewide implementation.
