Poll: Majority of Israelis Say Military Has Failed on All Fronts Since October 2023
A recent survey by Israel’s public broadcaster found 57% of Israelis believe the military has not secured a single victory since October 2023. Confidence is lowest on the Lebanese front (14%), followed by Gaza and Iran (16%), Syria (17%), Yemen (12%) and the West Bank (11%). The poll also highlights security concerns: 73% of respondents fear Hamas and Hezbollah could trigger another 7 October–style attack. Only 10% dismiss that risk. On Israel’s political front, 56% of those surveyed support a presidential pardon for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose corruption trial has been repeatedly delayed amid ongoing military operations. Meanwhile, Israeli forces are reported to be withdrawing from southern Lebanon after a campaign described as ending in “failure” under continued Hezbollah attacks.
