Vigilant youths in Kufana community, Kajuru Local Government Area, detained two suspects in the early hours of June 16, 2026. The individuals were caught allegedly removing transformer coils from a local installation. The operation was led by community patrol leader Samaila Akawu alongside youth leader Chris Lingo and other members. After the arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution. I appreciate the quick action, but detaining suspects without following proper legal procedures could backfire on the community.

Community leaders should coordinate with local police to ensure evidence is handled properly and suspects receive due process.
